This course will introduce you to paint analysis and Architectural Finishes Research, a systematic method of understanding the changes made to buildings over time.<\/p>\n

The course will cover:
\n– Why paint analysis matters and when to commission it
\n– How to brief specialists and understand the sampling process
\n– What to look for, and
\n– How to interpret the results and understand their limitations.<\/p>\n

Through interactive group work and dynamic case studies, attendees will learn how to use paint analysis to better understand a building or room\u2019s significance and use this insight to inform proportionate conservation schemes.<\/p>\n

The course will be led by Helen Hughes FIIC ACR, an ICON-accredited Conservator-Restorer who specialises in Architectural Paint\/Finishes Research.<\/p>\n
