Over ten years on from its completion in 2015, architect Gary Butler will talk about the project to conserve and regenerate the grade II* listed Master’s House as a hub of social and cultural life in Ledbury.<\/p>\n

Gary will lead a tour, and talk about the conservation approach to the project, which adopted the principle that the extraordinary medieval fabric was the most significant element of the building.<\/p>\n

A rare and unique opportunity to view at close hand ongoing sensitive brickwork repairs, including the entire rebuilding of the parapet and cornice being undertaken as part of extensive repair works taking place to the fa\u00e7ade of Farnham Museum (aka Wilmer House) a Grade I listed building, dating to 1718, built for local hop merchant John Thorne and now owned by Waverley Borough Council. The entire frontage of the building is constructed in rubbed brick and was described by architectural historian Nathanial Lloyd \u201cperhaps the most beautiful example extant of the Doric order interpreted in brick.\u201d There are some good sections of panelling internally as part of the museum which has a slightly unusual plan form.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0San Gemini Preservation Studies Program<\/strong>\u00a0is pleased to announce two new specialization programs for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. These four-month intensive courses offer in-depth training beyond our summer introductory programs and are designed as continuing education opportunities for professionals and graduate students. All programs involve theoretical learning and practical field experience.<\/div>\n

Both programs take place in San Gemini, Italy, and all instruction is conducted in English. Courses are led by licensed professional restorers, and all fieldwork is carried out in accordance with Italian restoration laws, under the approval and supervision of local authorities and the Italian Ministry of Culture.<\/div>\n
