It was built by a local Merchant, James Carlisle, in memory of his only son and once housed the largest Methodist congregations in Belfast. As a consequence of a declining congregation and its location at a major interface area, the church has lain empty since its closure in 1982 and since then, has suffered from extensive physical degradation.<\/p>\n<p>Funded by the RIBA, and inspired by the work of the Belfast Building Preservation Trust, Karen will provide an account of the Churches historical, cultural and architectural significance, documenting its subsequent demise.
