For many this has been a move away from a position of \u201cthis is not for us\u201d to one of \u201cwe need to be more involved\u201d. The same is the case in the world of public consultation. However, the pace of change in social media technology is fast and new tools and techniques become available on a weekly basis. In addition using social media in consultation raises many questions, concerning management, quality, integrity and analysis, that have not yet been answered properly.
