The itinerary\u00a0for this year\u2019s Manchester CPD event has been confirmed.\u00a0Hosted in the Museum of Science & Industry<\/a>, on Tuesday 6th June, this one-day event offers\u00a0an exciting lineup of industry experts, which includes:<\/p>\n

Michael Brown<\/strong>, Managing Director of Northcot Brick<\/a>, which supplied the bricks to RIBA Award winning Newport Street Gallery<\/a>. Michael will talk delegates through the ways in which the bespoke brickmaking process can be used to achieve distinct aesthetic and technical qualities.<\/p>\n

Alexis (Lex) Harrison<\/strong>, designer and Associate of global engineering consultancy ARUP<\/a>. A specialist in designing challenging facades in brickwork, Lex will speak on the subject of\u00a0 designing for movement in brickwork<\/a><\/em>, which will cover important technical and aesthetic considerations including developments in specification and application, as well as exemplar modern projects.<\/p>\n

Tim Multon<\/strong> of CPI Euromix<\/a> will present on the importance of choosing the correct types of mortar. In addition to strength, colour, standards and the relationship between mortar and brick, Tim will use examples of architectural mistakes to highlight the importance of correct specification.<\/p>\n

Stephanie Palmer<\/strong>, Sustainability Manager of Wienerberger UK<\/a>\u00a0 will talk delegates through clay brick\u2019s role in the circular economy, highlight the understated credentials of clay brick as a sustainable construction material, and the progress of the sector in working collaboratively to continually improve operations.<\/p>\n

Paul Surin<\/strong>, Head of Built Environment for Wienerberger AG will present on BIM. In addition to the what and how of BIM technology, Paul will demonstrate the advantages of using BIM when designing with clay brick, both commercially and for the end user.<\/p>\n
