De-Mystifying Mortar Analysis

So many conservation professionals will have dealt with mortar analysis during their projects, but the analysis sheets filled with chemical compounds and figures are often a bit of an enigma. This CPD day aims at giving a deeper understanding of the actual tests conducted during mortar analysis, why we test for the presence of certain elements and what this means for the mortar being tested.

9.30am – Arrival
Morning Session 1 – Lime: a scientific background, aggregates and additives, Introduction to mortar analysis
Morning Session 2 – The mortar analysis tests
12.30pm – Lunch
Afternoon Session 1 – Testing for Soluble Silica
Afternoon Session 2 – Calcimetry
3.00pm – Finish
* We are keen to allow plenty of time for questions and interaction, so these timings are only a guide.

£150 per person which includes refreshments and lunch.
