Surveys of historic timber-frames, whether Listed or not, require skills that go well beyond those required for other types of property.

In this Surveyor Training Day, we will:

* Discuss what a surveyors ‘Duty of Care’ means in the context of historic timber-frames
* Consider what is the difference between a ‘poor’ survey report and a ‘competent’ survey report
* Learn about defects commonly found in historic timber-frames
* Learn about decision making and providing good advice to a client
* Discuss when a further investigation is needed
* Discuss the impact of mistakes of inadequate diagnosis of frame defects
* Learn about best practice for timber-frame surveys
