BP26 takes place 10-11 September 2026 at Oxford Brookes University, reviving the Hutton + Rostron tradition from the 1980s-90s. Organized by SOCOTEC UK & Oxford Brookes University, it promotes interdisciplinary dialogue on building performance and failures.
Themed “Solving tomorrow’s problems today,” BP26 addresses challenges in optimising existing buildings and designing resilient structures. It covers Building Pathology and Diagnostics, Heritage and Conservation, Construction Policy and Regulation, Sustainability and Building Performance, Digital Innovation and Technology and Building Surveying and Professional Practice.
We welcome academics, practitioners, consultants, researchers, and students. Selected abstracts may be published in the Journal of Building Pathology & Adaptation and the Journal of Urban Sustainable Development. Attendees are invited to a formal dinner at Magdalen College.
