The Mills Section of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) are pleased to be working in partnership with the IHBC to offer a one day course ‘Owning A Mill’ as part of the IHBC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.

The course which promotes current best practice in the conservation and repair of historic windmills and watermills is of particular relevance to conservation and planning officers and employees of heritage protection organisations. Not only does it offer the opportunity to share best practice, it also provides a chance to network with people undertaking similar roles across the UK and for participants to share their experiences working on mill projects, learning which has potential application to other current and future projects. The workshop is taking place at a windmill in the final stages of a major HLF funded conservation project, providing a fantastic backdrop and context for the programme.

All the speakers on the course have several decades of relevant professional experience between them.
