Confronting Urban Planning and Design with Complexity: Methods for Inevitable Transformation

16 – 17 Jan 2014
Manchester

The event is hosted by the Manchester School of Architecture and is aimed at exploring more closely the potentials and parallels between processes of Spatial Planning and Urbanism/Design. In particular, how the complexity sciences can create and enhance this discourse through an examination of processes of inevitable transformation.

A keynote speech will be given by prof. Micheal Weinstock, who is well known for his fascinating work on exploring links between processes of emergence in natural and urban systems.
