As part of the construction phase, The Churches Conservation Trust and project contractors, Bakers of Danbury, are hosting a series of free technical events exploring different elements of working on a historic building, using the SMAQ as a live case study.
These events include:
- Inserting a new breathable sold floor and integrating modern building services into an historic building
- Removal and replacement of render in historic buildings
- Building on a burial site- constraints and considerations
- Repair of stone columns and removal of structural concrete insertions
- Working with an old building
- External fabric, flint and masonry repair and new construction
- Health and safety on historic building sites
