These events are specifically aimed at architects and surveyors wishing to undertake quinquinnial inspections on church buildings. They are also useful refresher courses for architects and surveyors wishing to brush up on existing skills!

This two day, Day Conference will follow the preparations and decisions architects and surveyors may have to take in advising clients about the safety of their buildings before a fire and will then follow through this theme by looking at sensible preparations to take to protect the building so there are plans in place for what to do when a fire occurs. We then look at what happens during a fire, the way a fire is fought and the effects on the building and the congregation and or occupiers and what happens afterwards in terms of help from insurers and the rebuilding needed.

During the conference group tours have also been arranged to look around Hampton Court Palace and relate the talks on fire precautions there to what can be seen on the ground. The size of these groups and their nature will be dependent upon the numbers booking for the conference and the cost will be included in the booking fee. We also hope to have a number of manufacturers of fire detection and firefighting equipment present with displays of their products and possibly give some talks on their products, but as yet we are still firming up this part of the conference.
