This year we are very lucky to have secured speakers from three of the amenity societies, and hope that this will make for an interesting and thought provoking morning. Matthew Slocombe – chair of the joint committee of national amenity societies & director of SPAB – will talk about how the amenity societies fit into the planning system, and Lucy Stewart caseworker for the SPAB will give a brief run through practical casework. This will be followed by the director of the Victorian Society Christopher Costelloe who will present a detailed look at church casework with some tips for architects about re-ordering Victorian churches. Finally, Catherine Croft, director of the Twentieth Century Society, will give an insight into how to one might approach ‘modern’ or unlisted buildings from a conservation perspective.
Plus afternoon session to include tours etc more….
