More than ever there seems to be pressure on planners and the planning system to deliver development – the right development in the right place at the right time. However, the economic context can make this difficult. Given this, the conference will explore what planners can do to stimulate development looking at examples of transformational projects and approaches combining development, infrastructure and land assembly. It will also examine what tools planners need, the attributes required to provide leadership and how best to communicate and collaborate with others to make things happen. As well as a host of great speakers, the conference includes a walking tour of Dundee Waterfront, the winner of the Scotland’s Best Places initiative organised by RTPI Scotland last year. more….
