The Lutyens Trust: Maintaining a Masterpiece- the challenges of Campion Hall (IHBC Recognised CPD Provider)

Where: In-person Campion Hall, Brewer Street, Oxford OX1 1QS

Led by the Bursar Tim Myatt and the Fellow-Curator Peter Davidson, this two and a half hour tour takes visitors behind the scenes at Campion Hall, to attics and basements, cellar and boiler rooms, and gives a sense of how a working Oxford College attempts to maintain and preserve one of Sir Edwin Lutyens’s latest and finest buildings. There should also be a chance to glimpse some of Lutyens’s plans for Campion and some of the completion photographs.

Campion Hall incorporates to the west, part of a C17 property, Micklen Hall. Lutyens’s hall, 1934-36, is in Clipsham ashlar and includes a stunning chapel.
