The Seventh Annual Cambridge Conference of the Historic Interiors Section of Icon will continue the section’s chronological survey with an examination of the technological advances which influenced the development of the historic interiors in the 19th century. Topics will range from the introduction of heating and lighting to the changes in the manufacture of decorative elements such as paints and wallpapers. Papers will be presented by a range of multi-disciplinary speakers who will discuss developments in technology and the design opportunities they provided.
