London
Getting your narrative right is vital if you want to engage public interest and secure stakeholder support for infrastructure and development projects … where the benefits of a proposal often seem fair away, but the impacts are often felt strongly and locally today.
This advanced training course provides in-depth expertise on managing communications for infrastructure and development projects, including:
● Building your communications strategy
● Harnessing the wider story – for example economic, employment, regeneration, or devolution angles – and linking to the national picture.
● Effective pre-consultation engagement.
● Researching and testing messages, including using polling and focus groups.
● Mapping and engaging with your stakeholders.
● From short-term tactics to long-term narrative.
● Managing high political and public interest, locally and nationally.
● Aligning stakeholder interests – from sponsor, to delivery body, to businesses, and the public.
The course is taught by Paul Chapman: Paul was Managing Director of HS1, co-authored the DfT’s Brown Review on rail franchising, was Interim Communications Director at HS2, and developed the transport strategy for the London 2012 bid.
He therefore has first-hand experience of the techniques and approaches required to deliver effective infrastructure communications across high-profile public and private sector projects.
