Innovation in construction materials and building design is as old as human civilisation itself.  Some of these innovations have not been successful  – asbestos as one example.   This interesting CPD session looks at a selection of commonly seen innovative materials that were once thought to be the best thing but were later determined to be poor choices.  Reversing the choices made others, often many decades earlier, is rarely easy or inexpensive.
