IHBC South East Branch: Site Visit and Summer Picnic at Amberley Museum
When: Friday 4 September 2026, 10.00 – 16.00
Where: In-person, Amberley Museum, New Barn Road
Amberley, West Sussex, BN18 9LT
This is a unique opportunity to visit this historic site, located on the former site of the Amberley chalk pits. The museum provides a centre where the industrial and social history in the south-east has been conserved and interpreted in an active working environment.
The day will start at 10am with a curator’s tour of the Museum and chalk pits site, and will be followed by a group networking picnic lunch at the site (BYO picnic). Partners, families and children are welcome. In the afternoon we have the opportunity of a site visit to the Scheduled Amberley Castle to view and hear about the ongoing works from Kevin Symonds of Traditional Stone. There is an optional opportunity for further networking at the Bridge pub at the end of the day.
For further information and booking:
Cost: IHBC Members £21.56, non-members £26.95, children (5-17 years) £10.78, children under 5 years free.
